Huge Response To Swingfield Survey

12.00.00am GMT Fri 10th Jan 2003

Local Campaigners Peter Carroll, Christena Smith and Cllr Peter Smith are delighted with the response to their recent survey of local opinion.

Peter Smith commented, "I was amazed at the number of responses we received. Many local problems were highlighted by residents. We are now starting to deal with these."

On Policing, every resident who responded said that they saw a Police Officer in our area either 'rarely' or 'never'. On education there was real concern expressed at the Conservative run County Council's policy of underfunding local schools.

Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman Peter Carroll said, "I am very concerned at the apparent lack of Police presence in our area. Visible Policing is a real deterrent to crime and more Police on patrol would undoubtedly cut speeding too.
