Philip Road Tree Replacement Call

7.00.00am GMT Thu 9th Nov 2006

Tree and broken kerb-stone

Local Lib Dem campaigner Darren Briddock has taken action to fix pavements in Philip Road Folkestone by requesting that the council attend to the damage caused by a large tree.

Darren said:

"This tree is causing damage to the pavements and making the kerbstones a trip hazard. I have asked the council to get this tree replaced with a smaller, slower growing one and fix the pavement before someone takes a fall in the dark".

The tree was planted around 20 years ago and due to poor maintenance has been growing out of control. Its roots are lifting the pavement and raising up kerb stones as well as endangering the foundations of a house.

A local resident contacted Darren to get this problem sorted as he has already addressed many other problems in the Morehall ward.
