Working for Folkestone, Hythe, Romney Marsh and Elham Valley

3rd Floor 318

12.12.57pm GMT Thu 20th Mar 2008

Folkestone harbour will be treated to "3rd Floor 318" this Easter - a massive projection by Ruth A Parkinson onto the front of the Grand Burstin Hotel overlooking the harbour. The projection, supported a grant from Folkestone Town Council amongst others, will take place from Thursday 20th - Monday 23rd March between 7pm - 9pm, and is free to see.

In the 19th century, the Royal Pavilion was one of Folkestone's grandest hotels. Its illustrious guests included Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, the Rothchilds, Sir Joseph Paxton and Charles Dickens.

Ruth's research on the hotel and its connections to the present is being interpreted as a temporary projection onto the facade of the Grand Burstin Hotel.
