Folkestone to Cliff End flood and erosion management strategy1.33.02am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 23rd May 2008 The Environment Agency has developed a draft strategy for managing the risk of flooding and erosion along the coast between Folkestone and Cliff End. Through a process of technical, economic and environmental assessment the draft strategy has identified proposed options for each section of the coast within the strategy area. Consultation has already been undertaken with relevant local authorities, national government organisations and key interested parties. You can download a copy of the consultation document, feedback form, the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and the Strategy Technical Report from the Environment Agency web site, using the link on the left. Alternatively copies of the consultation document and a reference copy of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and the Strategy Technical Report are available at public libraries in Rye, Lydd, New Romney, Hythe, Sandgate and Folkestone. The public are invited to attend drop in sessions / exhibitions where members of staff will be available to answer questions and provide further information;
An exhibition will also be available to view at the Lydd Library Craft Gallery from Saturday 7 to Monday 30 June. To comment on any aspects of the draft strategy, complete the feedback form and send to the Environment Agency by Friday 15 August. Related Link:
