Folkestone's Multicultural Festival 2009: June 11th -June 14th11.54.04am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 10th Jun 2009 Folkestone's Multicultural Festival returns for its third year starting tomorrow - and its bigger and better than ever! The festival is run by Folkestone Town Centre Management and is based in the Town Centre, Bouverie Place, Sandgate Road, Guildhall Street, Rendezvous Street and Leas Cliff Hall with international performances exotic food samples and sounds. The festival is free and organised by Folkestone Town Centre Management Throughout the festival there will be food stalls including Nepalese, Indian, Greek, Thai, Spanish and of course English. The entertainment in the Sandgate Road (outside Debenhams & WHSmith & Guildhall Street stage areas. THURSDAY 11th - LEAS CLIFF HALL, The Leas Japanese origami and calligraphy workshop. Performances by Music For Change including George Fiawoo, Nicky Reid, Sujata Bannerjee, Uzambezi Trio and Lucky Moyo. Old Time Music Hall Show by your very own Miss Patty "B". Invitation for the audience to dress fashionably 1890 to 1920s. Tickets: FTCM 01303 850522 at £5 each. Concessions for groups bookings. Starts at 7.30pm. FRIDAY 12th - TOWN CENTRE Panache Steel Band. Japanese dance and martial arts performances. With dance, songs, music, food and crafts from around the world. SATURDAY 13th - TOWN CENTRE DJ workshops, Singing by Brent and Louise Orfila. Art Market in Rendezvous Street. Folkestone Artists Co-operative: chalk "earthquake" pavement art, children's workshops, Art Beat Exhibition including Hendrix Woz Here documentary. FAC musicians on stage. Two stages with entertainment from 10-4 each day, with dance, songs, music, food and crafts from around the world. SUNDAY 14th - TOWN CENTRE & FOLKESTONE INVICTA F.C. 11am to 4pm in Town Centre stage performances with Hawkinge Flyers (Baton Twirlers), dance, songs, music, and crafts from around the world. 9am to 3pm at Folkestone Invicta F.C. training pitches a football tournament organised by the Nepalese Community. The Folkestone Multicultural Festival is supported with grants from, amongst others, Folkestone Town Council.
