Matthews: Hythe will miss Bert Drury4.04.56pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 14th Jun 2009 Bert Drury has passed away at the age of 80, last Monday. Bert had been involved with the local scene, in many roles, for many years. He served as a Shepway District Councillor (at one time as Vice Chairman), a Town Councillor (chairman of the planning committee) and served on many groups including Age Concern and the Hythe Green Preservation Society. Neil Matthews said: "Bert was a true example of a 'Town's person doing his part for the community', he was always around and will be greatly missed."
