Hythe festive lights seem to be for life, not just for Christmas...

Neil Matthews: In these days when people need to be encouraged into shopping streets, having old and forgotten decorations still on view in Hythe High Street sends the wrong message.

Liberal Democrat campaigner Neil Matthews has written to Hythe Town Council to ask that the Christmas decorations that are still up in Hythe High Street in MARCH are taken down.

Neil, an ex-Mayor of Hythe and the Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman for Folkestone and Hythe, says:

"Hythe High Street has a forgotten look to it with these seasonal decorations still on show. In these days when people need to be encouraged into shopping streets, having old and forgotten decorations still on view sends the wrong message.

"I understand there may be a financial implication in having these decorations taken down, but I'm sure an allowance for this has been fully anticipated and available within the budget."
