Kent Trading Standards alert on Folkestone Door Callers

March 18, 2009 1:59 PM

Kent Trading Standards have had reports of calls to home owners in the Folkestone area supposedly from telephone providers.

The callers introduce themselves and try to gain entry to the homeowners property. They said they had come to check the broadband but the homeowner did not have broadband.

Both callers were in their 20's, one male and one female. The female was about 5 foot 3 with dark curly hair and was white. The male was black, about 6 foot tall, smart and with dark curly hair.

Kent Trading Standards urge homeowners not to agree to anything on the doorstep and always to ask to see the identity card of any caller. Do not let unknown callers into your home. If you are in any doubt, ring Consumer Direct for advice on 08454 04 05 06.
