July 24, 2015 12:13 PM

Lib Dems WinningThe Liberal Democrats won two seats in South East England last night, reinforcing a trend of good Lib Dem local election results since the General Election.

Firstly on Elmbridge District Council in Long Ditton ward we had our first success of the night with Neil Houston being elected to join the two other Lib Dem Councillors in the ward.

Long Ditton (Elmbridge) vote result: Turnout 32%

  • Lib Dem (Neil Houston) 770
  • Conversative 611
  • Green 79
  • UKIP 61

There was also a win in the Seaford Central ward on Seaford Town Council for Isabelle Murray. Isabelle wasn't able to vote in the May elections as she only turned 18 afterwards but has now become the newest member of the #LibDemFightback - and probably the yougest Councillor in the country!

Seaford Central Town Council: Turnout 26%

  • Lib Dem (Isabelle Murray) 370
  • UKIP 210
  • Independent 207
  • Conservative 193
  • Green 57

Well done to Neil, Isabelle and both local parties.
