Ted Welcomes Lydd Life-Saving Initiative

October 10, 2016 11:01 AM

Lib Dem Romney Marsh Campaigner Ted Last has strongly welcomed the installation of two new Defibrillator in ex-phone box in Lyddfunded by Lydd Town Council.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is an essential life saving step in the chain of survival in case of heart attack. There are many defibrillators available in public places such as train stations, shopping centres, airport and leisure centres. These defibrillators are often known as public access defibrillators (PAD) as anyone can use them in an emergency. You shouldn't be afraid of using a defibrillator if someone has had a cardiac arrest.

One is now positioned at Heysham Hall at Lade, while Lydd's one is in the no longer redundant phone box in Coronation Square. Both defibrillators come with full instructions and not only fully automatic but also fool-proof.

Ted commented:

"This is a great move from Lydd Town Council, and may save lives: what better investment could there be?"
